Dementia Daily Diary (“DDD”) respects your right to control your personal data. This page explains how to request deletion of your account and associated data.

How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your account in one of the following ways:

Option 1 – Inside the App

  1. Open the Dementia Daily Diary app
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Select “Delete Account”
  4. Confirm your request

Option 2 – Request via Web
If you are unable to access the app, you may request deletion through this page.

We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before processing your request.

What Data Will Be Deleted

When your account is deleted:

  • All personal information (name, email, phone number) is permanently deleted
  • All diary entries, chats, schedules, and other caregiving records stored in your account are permanently deleted
  • All account-related data is removed from our systems
  • Any shared access to your data will be removed from other users

Shared Data

If you have shared information with other users:

  • Those users are granted view-only access to your data within the app
  • Shared users do not receive or store independent copies of your data

If you delete your account:

  • All shared access is permanently removed
  • Other users will no longer be able to view your information

What Data May Be Retained

  • Anonymous, non-identifiable statistical data may be retained
  • This data cannot be used to identify you and is used only for research and app improvement

Before You Delete Your Account

Before deleting your account, you may wish to consider the following options:

  • You may continue using a free version of the app with limited features, without losing your stored information (if available)
  • We may offer the ability to download certain data (such as diary entries or daily logs) for your personal records

Please note that once your account is deleted, your data cannot be recovered.

Data Retention Timing

  • Account deletion requests are processed within a reasonable timeframe
  • Some data may remain in secure backups for a limited period before permanent deletion
  • Use of the app for deletion is immediate

Important Notes

  • Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
  • Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered
  • Downgrading to a free version (if available) may allow you to retain access to your data without deletion
